Hi there. We don’t want your money.

We’re just working to make sure no more people get bilked by 5-time financial felon and aspiring rescue celeb Sharon Logan, of the nonprofit Paw Protectors animal rescue. There’s already a long list of victims in southern California. Most of them were either her employers, or men.

This blog is a companion to our Facebook Page: Warning About Sharon Jean Logan, Repeat Felon Behind Paw Protectors. At the bottom of this post are links to court documents for some of Logan’s multiple criminal offenses, including her eight theft convictions.

Sharon Logan is so mad about that Facebook Page that she’s doing some odd things (more about that below). That’s probably because as far as we’ve seen, she’s never publicly acknowledged her lengthy history of stealing money (eight convictions, five of them felonies, most recently in 2017), or of her massive unpaid criminal restitution, taxes and other court judgments, which total more than $300,000. Sharon Logan is insulting, accusatory, and downright mean to many others in the rescue field, and even posts their personal information to social media. But she doesn’t seem to have owned her own bad past or made amends.

She’s posted about traveling a lot, and bragged about her sophisticated, expensive tastes in restaurants and cocktails — while at least one creditor with a wage garnishment order has been unsuccessfully trying to find where she works. Logan aggressively seeks publicity as an activist, but, until now, she has managed to keep social media and Google searches mostly free of references to her long, bad legal history.

Here’s where it gets weirder: In order to punish us for publicizing her bad history, Sharon Logan is going Joe Exotic on one of her fellow pitbull rescue activists, San Diego’s Dr. Saskia Boisot, who doesn’t know who the hell we are. (Logan was already mad at her for something dog-related.) For revenge, Logan is posting the family’s court documents on her Facebook Paw Protectors Page from their custody battle. She also makes claims that are easily verified as false by looking up the doctor’s medical license online (we won’t repeat them because repeating libel could make us liable for libel, too).

We’re not sure why Logan still assumes we are Dr. Boisot, given Logan’s long list of other potential enemies — and the fact we clearly know little about dogs or dog rescue. We only stumbled into this crazy pitbull rescue world because we were researching Logan’s financial crimes and other legal misdeeds, after learning the sad fate of one of her male victims.

There are some interesting stories involving pitbull rescue and Dr. Boisot, not all good ones, but everything we know comes from dogsbite.org (good reporting), or Facebook, particularly the Justice4Remi page. You might wonder why Logan thinks publicizing the intimate details of another pitbull activist’s family law squabbles would compensate for Logan’s lengthy history of stealing money, bad debt, and unpaid financial restitution for her crimes. We’re wondering that, too. Our apologies to that other lady’s family.

In 1999, Sharon Logan (then Sharon Hecox) was convicted of ID Theft from her ex-husband, James Hecox (now deceased). She was given probation, and ordered to pay restitution. We have no evidence she paid it. While still on probation, she was convicted of felony grand theft and misdemeanor embezzlement for stealing $250,000 from her employer by forging time cards.

In 2000, Sharon Logan was convicted of felony grand theft, and misdemeanor embezzlement, for stealing $250,000 from her employer by falsifying time cards. She was sentenced to prison. She was ordered to pay $150,000 in victim restitution to one of the companies, and $10,000 to another. We have no evidence she paid any of it. (Court minute orders are included in the 2003 False Pretenses conviction file, below.)
In 2003, not long after getting out of prison for embezzling $250,000 from her employer, Logan took money by false pretenses from Todd B. She was convicted of two felonies, and ordered to pay him restitution. We have no evidence she paid any of it. (Court minute orders from the 2000 convictions are included in the file.)
In 2016, Logan pled guilty to misdemeanor ID theft from “Margaret L.” She was given probation, despite previously having three felony convictions for theft. While still on probation, she was sentenced for two felony grand thefts from two small plumbing companies, one of whom she worked for. She was allowed to serve that jail time for those felonies on weekends only.

In 2017, Sharon Logan pled guilty to two felony counts of grand theft, one from her employer. She stole from two plumbing companies, RSM Plumbing and Geers Plumbing. She was ordered to pay restitution to the victims, and still owes most of it. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail, but a judge later shortened it to 120 days and allowed her to serve it on weekends only, for which she paid $100 per day. Logan was also ordered to stay 100 yards away from Dave Heck, Don Baker, and RSM Plumbing.

In 2012, Logan’s ex-boyfriend, policeman Alex R., was granted a three-year, no-contact restraining order. Logan accused him of abuse and tried to get a restraining order against him, but the court denied it. In 2016, Alex R. convinced the court to extend the restraining order against Logan for another five years, until February 2021.

On May 2, 2013, Sharon Logan was arrested in a Newport sting for operating an escort service without a license. The officer contacted her through a Backpage.com ad. She told the officer she had sex with men for money about three times per week. She pled guilty in 2014.
Sharon Jean Logan was popped four times last decade for driving without a license. Nothing much happened to her. We don’t know if she has a valid license now, but she’s posted about driving around the country on vacations:

On September 2, 2012, Logan was cited for driving on a suspended license. She eventually pled guilty.

In July 2013, Sharon Logan was again cited for driving on a suspended license, as well as failure to provide insurance. She pled guilty in 2014.

On October 29, 2014, Logan was cited for the third year in a row for driving without a license. Logan failed to appear for arraignment, and a warrant was issued for her arrest on April 15, 2015. It remained in effect until Logan turned herself in on January 8, 2016. (While she was at large, Logan settled her case against the Orange County animal shelter, Logan v. OCAC.) She pled guilty. She still hasn’t paid off the court fees, and the court revoked her payment plan in May, 2022.
In 2019, Sharon Logan was cited for the fourth time that decade for driving without a license, and also giving false registration. She pled guilty to both in May, 2021.
