Bankruptcy trustee suspects accused dog abuser Steffen Baldwin is hiding assets.

Sharon Logan’s buddy Steffen Baldwin — the disgraced pitbull trainer facing 53 criminal charges in Ohio for animal cruelty and financial wrongdoing, but who is a “victim” according to Logan — is facing some heat in his ongoing Florida bankruptcy.

The bankruptcy trustee wants to know what happened to the money from the sale of that Acton, California ranch that Dr. Saskia Boisot’s and Baldwin’s nonprofit, Underdog Alliance, bought Baldwin for UA’s ill-fated dog rescue effort. Baldwin reportedly trained rescue dogs at the ranch prior to his 2020 arrest and extradition to Ohio.

A lot of people have wondered about that ranch. Based on the debtor’s exam notice, it appears the trustee suspects Baldwin transferred the sale proceeds to his then-girlfriend, Katherine “Katie” Flannery. And the trustee wants to know how to find Flannery.

Notice that Flannery, also known as Katherine Flannery Lano, somehow ended up on the grant deed with Baldwin. Her name was on there when they sold the property in November, 2020.

The trustee is also demanding Baldwin turn over his clothing, jewelry, electronics, and even the security deposit on his Jacksonville rental. The trustee alleges that Baldwin lied about the value of his assets.

The trustee also has questions about some vehicles Baldwin allegedly owned, but didn’t list in his bankruptcy petition, as well as some loans and grants Baldwin may have received, including a PPP pandemic relief loan.

On March 15, 2023, at 2:00 p.m, Baldwin is ordered to face a debtor’s examination regarding what happened to the ranch and those vehicles. It will be on Zoom. Anyone from the public can observe, if you make arrangements with the court beforehand.

By the way, notice that Baldwin claims that for all of 2020, his only income was unemployment benefits. But wasn’t he earning income at the Acton ranch as a dog rehabilitator until his arrest in July, 2020, for the alleged Ohio crimes? That’s what we thought, anyway. (Baldwin has no criminal charges related to the Acton, CA project.)

Baldwin filed the Chapter 7 petition in November, 2022, in Florida’s Middle District. The trustee challenging him is Robert Altman. Here’s his profile:

Baldwin moved to Florida last year, after being extradited from California to Ohio, where the 53 criminal charges are pending. According to the bankruptcy petition, he manages a pizza restaurant.

Baldwin is asking to discharge about $54,000 he owes to two Ohio law firms that helped with his criminal defense. Baldwin currently has a public defender. (There is no trial date yet.)

He also owes substantial sums in back taxes, student loans, and child support.

We’re surprised at the pushback Baldwin’s bankruptcy is getting, compared with the easy-breezy 2022 bankruptcy in Orange County, California of Baldwin supporter Sharon Logan, the 6Time Financial Felon with $500K-plus in unpaid criminal restitution.

Sharon Logan’s bankruptcy went through — but she still owes half a million in criminal restitution for her thefts and embezzlements.

6Time keeps claiming that Baldwin, who is facing dozens of animal abuse and fraud charges in Ohio, is really a victim of Underdog Alliance’s Dr. Saskia Boisot of San Diego, despite lack of evidence. She also credulously repeats Baldwin’s alleged claims that Dr. SB and Justice4Remi’s Litsa K are way crazy, because of course an accused felon looking at 80 years in prison would speak truthfully about the people trying to put him away.

We saw several red flags on Logan’s Chapter 7 petition, but the craziest was her demand to keep spending $250 a month on facials at Skin Laundry. She also dumped a $250,000 fraud judgment, calling it “consumer debt.”

But crazy or not, her Chapter 7 discharge sped effortlessly through the system, unlike Baldwin’s.

It’s the second bankruptcy for both Baldwin and Logan. Logan’s first was in 1999, and Baldwin’s was in 2010. Generally, people don’t file bankruptcy unless they either own property, have a high-paying job, or expect to make substantial money some other way. Otherwise, there’s nothing creditors can take, so why bother?

We can’t figure out what Baldwin’s reason is.

Anyway.  As of today, our favorite Robert Altman is no longer the movie director, but a Middle District of Florida Bankruptcy Court trustee.
